Step 1 – Installing the Configuration File

For a Vista installation, on connecting the device to a USB port the AutoPlay screen will be seen. Select the “Install I2C Driver” option. This will cause the driver installation file to be copied onto the Windows desktop.

Step 2 – Installing the Driver

 

Once the configuration file is copied, the Found New Hardware screen will appear. Select the first option to install the driver software.

When you are prompted to insert a disc, select the box for other options.

Then select the “Browse my computer” option.

Hit the “Browse” button and select the Desktop then press the Next button. The driver should now start to install.

You must then agree to install the software from the security warning screen.

You should then get a screen confirming that the device installed correctly and after this is closed a balloon window will show the serial port that has been assigned

Note that Windows Vista does not include the HyperTerminal application as standard but it can be downloaded free (for personal use) from www.hilgraeve.com/hyperterminal.html. An alternative terminal emulators is ZOC http://www.emtec.com/zoc/index.html.
