Week 26 (+6)
Week 26Decorating continues inside and out, kitchen and utility work tops fitted.

Week 25 (+5)
week 25Ground works complete, Decorating continues.

Week 24 (+4)
Week 24Paving continues around house, ground floor tiling is complete, new decorators start, joinery continues, doors added to ground floor, Electricians continue second fix.

Week 23: (+3)
Week 23Ground works continue, paving added to patio, drive way edged and flattening.  Showers added, living room floor laid, spindles added to staircase, kitchen fitting commences, upstairs doors added.  Electricians continue.

Week 22: (+2 for extras)
Week22Ground works continue, Heating is turned on and running water in taps. Staircase installation commences, Hearths installed.  Electricians, Plumber continue and Decorator is asked to stay at home.

Week 21: (+1 for snow)
Week21Water tanks blocked round, ground works commence, electrics, plumbing and decorating continue, Hall floor laid.

Week 20: (completion ?)
Week 20James Callum is born 1 week overdue 9lB.  Scaffolding removed, ground works commence, drains laid, water tanks installed, plaster completed, electrics, plumbing and decorating continue, Kitchen floor laid, Hallway self levelling floor pored. Edward is 3 (on completion date).

Week 19:
Week 19Plastering continues, outside dashing complete and some scaffolding removed to provide access for ground loops to be installed into garage.  Painting commences, electricians and plumber start second fix, kitchen self-levelled for tiling.

Week 18:
Week 18Plaster boarding complete, plastering continues, outside render complete and North and South Elevation dashed. Electric installed (at last) and underground.  Skirting and architraves commences on first floor.  Bathroom tiling complete.

Week 17:
Week 17Yet more plaster board and plastering, outdoor render added, and final dashing added to garage (so that electric cables can be connected across).  Bathroom tiling commences.

Week 16:
Week 16
Even more plaster board and plastering (all ceilings including garage, all walls except Halls), rear roof slated (all but ridging tiles), Heating and Hot water gizmos installed (actually week 15 but couldn't take a photo), Oak beams added to fireplaces, external door frames added, tiling commences in bathrooms (floors). "Under-stairs" cupboard created in rear Hall way.

Week 15:
Week 15More plaster board and plastering, All Windows fitted (including new opening in porch), more door casings fitted, rear roof stripped, felted and battened, and a bit of snow falls (but not like it used to be when I was young).

Week 14:
Week 14Plaster board added to ceiling and walls (outside walls dry-lined) on ground floor, plastering starts on first floor, 21 new windows fitted, first fix electrics finished, slating nears completion (but now we decide to do the remaining original roof), solar panels added, scaffolding added for east roof section.

Week 13:
Week 13Plaster board added to ceilings and stud walls on first floor, some door casings added, first fix of electrics finished in extension and ground floor, slating continues, baths plumbed.  Rooms start to take shape upstairs.

Week 12:
Week 12Garage floor concreted, stud walls added in extension, first fix of electrics continue including audio and data cables, showers plumbed, cooker 'fireplace' increased in height and opened up for extractor hood, exterior woodwork completed, slating commences on both rear and front roof (two teams), patio retaining wall started.

Week 11: (2009 -)
Week 11Work commences in 2009... Waterproofing added to north and west face, Ceiling insulation added, first floor covering added, ceiling plaster board added in extension, first fix of electrical started, west roof stripped for new tiling, garage floor prepared for concrete, living room stud wall added.

Week 10: (half way...)
Week 10Roof battened for tiles, External Walls battened for waterproofing, Chimney pots installed, Insulation laid on Ground floor, under-floor heating pipes laid and screed over.  Break for Christmas and New Year whilst floor sets.

Week 9:
Week 9Extension roof is waterproofed, gable ends are blocked up, soak-away dug for septic tank, plumbing first fix commences.


Week 8:
Week 8Extension roof takes shape, ground source heat pips are completed and field levelled.  Snowed off Thursday and Friday.




Week 7:
Week 7Render is removed from front and back, scaffolding added around property for extension apex and re-rendering, first floor is battened for underfloor pipes, septic tank and drains installed, ground source heat pipes are started to be laid but hit rock in field...

Week 6:
Extension reaches roof level, access to living room from garage blocked up, utility to garage doorway added, all doorways raised for new floor level.

Week 5:

Extension reaches first floor level, internal stud wall erected in existing house, family and living room chimney breast built.


Week 4:
Week 4Living room and Garage extension under way, internal walls striped of plaster, floor layout for upstairs laid down.


Week 3:
Garage and Sun house removedGarage and Sun house removed, new floors in front of house, foundations laid for new garage/living room.


Week 2:
Week2 photosKitchen/Dining room made into one, new door way from family room into hall way, new door way into living room, floor removed from hall, change of plan due to requirement for steel beam new balcony created over stair way.

Week 1:
week 1 photosWork commences on the renovation:  Out buildings are removed, rear garden is flattened and hardcored, access created right around property.  Utility room wall built, back hall walls are modified, downstairs loo created.
